In the last couple of weeks, I have made about 20 half pints of strawberry freezer jam. I love strawberry freezer jam, but I think 20 half pints will keep us jam covered for awhile! So, why not experiment and make some adult strawberry freezer jam? This is a very easy recipe that can be made in small batches. Perfect for an adult party treat, and once the jam is mixed up it only takes 30 minutes for it to be ready to eat!
8 Ways To Serve No-Cook Strawberry Bourbon Freezer Jam
1. Topping for mini pancakes.
2. Topping for cheesecake.
3. Spread cream cheese on multi-grain cracker and top with jam.
4. Pour over a log of goat cheese and serve with crackers.
5. Wedges of PB and Strawberry Bourbon Jam.
6. Spread on graham crackers for S’Mores.
7. Topping for ice cream.
8. Topping for mini bagels.
These would all work easily for a special grown-up brunch, party or midnight snack. How would you serve Strawberry Bourbon Jam? My favorite way is poured over a log of goat cheese with crackers. Honestly, that may be one of my all time favorite late night snacks. Okay, using the term “late night” might be stretching a little bit. It is more of a 9 pm snack. You know right after I have finished one episode of Orphan Black and am totally freaked out. A snack is needed to keep you energized for binge watching Orphan Black! Have you seen it? It is so INTENSE!! I am only in season two so no spoilers! If you haven’t seen it, I suggest you only start it when you have time to binge watch!
Did you see that this recipe is no cook?!? The no cook part is achieved by using a special pectin called instant pectin. You must look closely at your pectin to make sure it is instant pectin or your jam will have to be cooked. If you make cooked jam just add the bourbon right before pouring the jam into your jars.
Supplies Used To Make No-Cook Freezer Jam
No Cook Strawberry Bourbon Freezer Jam is a great adult twist to traditional jam.
- 1 2/3 cup Crushed Strawberries (crush with potato masher)
- 2 tbsp Instant Pectin I used Ball RealFruit Instant Pectin
- 2/3 cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 to 2 1/2 shots Bourbon I used Maker’s Mark
Stir pectin and granulated sugar together in a bowl. Add strawberries and stir for 3 minutes. Set a timer and really stir non stop for 3 minutes! Add shots of Bourbon and stir for 1 minute. Pour into jars and let sit undisturbed for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes your jam should be set and you can store in refrigerator or freezer.
Makes 2- 1/2 pint freezer jars
