One of the things I like about the holidays is the opportunity to try something unique. My favorite place to find unique new recipes is Pinterest. Do you love Pinterest? Are you a Pinterest window shopper or do you make some of the cool things you pin? I recently started organizing my pins better, so I can make more of my favorite pins. Pinterest and Christmas just go together, and I love to spend time at Christmas with family making special treats. These Hot Cocoa Sippers are definitely special and pretty easy to make. So what is a Hot Cocoa Sipper? They are marshmallow cups filled with cinnamon hot cocoa (recipe below) and topped with chocolate chips. Sounds complicated?! No worries, this is a treat that is worth pinning and making.
Let’s start with making the marshmallow cups.
Step 1 Gently push finger in the middle of jumbo marshmallow. Be careful to not tear side or bottom.
Step 2 Pinch around the edge to open up the marshmallow cup.
Step 3 Gently fill with Hot Cocoa (see recipe below).
Step 4 Place mini chocolate chips around edge of marshmallow cups. We use Enjoy Life dairy free mini chocolate chips. The chips stick to the moist marshmallow sides.
Step 5 Enjoy!
- 2 cups Coconut Sugar
- 3/4 cup Cocoa
- 1 tbsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Mix in a bowl and store in an air tight container. Mix 1 tbl mix per 8 oz of milk. We use coconut milk. I like to warm my hot cocoa on the stove. I warmed 16 oz of milk with 2 tbl cocoa mix until it starts to boil.
Cocoa Sippers are so much fun to make and eat. They are a perfect special snack or a conversation piece at a holiday party. And the cinnamon cocoa mix is our family’s very favorite cocoa mix. I hope you enjoy! Let me know how yours turn out.
